Background: Today, organizations for their growth and excellence have a special focus on effective in-service training, which requires the use of educational evaluation. One of the most important and applicable courses is holding a cardio-pulmonary resuscitation course for all staff at all levels.
Methods: This was a descriptive study that was performed on 80 newly nurses of Shahid Rahnoun Hospital in Yazd. To evaluate the effectiveness of the Kirkpatrick model, four levels of reaction, learning, behavior and results were performed. Data analysis was done by SPSS software version 21 using numerical and frequency indices.
Results: Based on the results at the reaction level, the average level of the content of the course was 3.80, the teacher was 3.78 and the facilities were 3.81. Mean and standard deviation of the reaction surface (3.79 ± 0.48), learning (18.21 ± 0.84), behavior (4.31 ± 0.49) and results (4.48 ± 0.22) The overall effectiveness is 85.61%.
Conclusion: The results indicate the effectiveness of the course held for nurses and it seems that the Kirkpatrick model can be a suitable method for evaluating the effectiveness of in-service training in the health domain. It is recommended to use up-to-date and efficient models such as the Kirkpatrick model in the field of health sciences.
