The relationship between self-efficacy with life satisfaction in undergraduate nursing students at Hamadan Nursing and Midwifery Faculty

Introduction: Life satisfaction is one of the components of mental health that is influenced by many factors, including self-efficacy, which is very important for nursing students to study and study this concept. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and life satisfaction in nursing students.


Methods:  This study is a descriptive-analytical study that the research population includes all undergraduate nursing students studying in Hamadan University of Medical Sciences in 2018-2019. The sample consisted of 200 nursing students who were selected by available sampling method. Standard questionnaires, life satisfaction of Diner et al., And Sherrer et al. Self-efficacy were used for data collection. Data analysis was performed using spss16 software and statistical methods, including mean and standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient, one-way ANOVA and independent t-test.

The sample consisted of 200 nursing students who were selected by available sampling method. Standard questionnaires, life satisfaction of Diner et al., And Sherrer et al. Self-efficacy were used for data collection. Data analysis was performed using spss16 software and statistical methods, including mean and standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient, one-way ANOVA and independent t-test.
  
Results: 51/5% of female students, 82/9% were single, 53% were non-native and their mean age was 23 years. The results showed that the mean and standard deviation of students' life satisfaction was 15/09±4/29, which was higher than the average value, and the mean self-efficacy score was 56/82 ±6/67 that was at a moderate level.  There was also a significant positive correlation between self-efficacy and life satisfaction (p<0.001، r=0.4).


Conclusion : Findings showed that self-efficacy was related to life satisfaction in nursing students. In other words, as self-efficacy increases, life satisfaction increases. Therefore, it is suggested that measures such as holding self-efficacy skills training workshops increase the level of life satisfaction among nursing students as one of the important and influential strata of society. One of the most important and influential segments of society has grown.
