Barriers to The Implementation of The Nursing Process from the Perspective of Nurses Working in Ardabil and Khalkhal University Hospitals in 2020

Introduction: The nursing process is a scientific and purposeful method that its use leads to coordination in the provision of services and allows nurses to use critical thinking for their clinical judgments and care activities. This study aimed to investigate the barriers to the implementation of the nursing process from the perspective of nurses working in Ardabil and Khalkhal University Hospitals from May to October 2020.
Methods: The cross-sectional descriptive study was performed on 300 nurses working in Ardabil and Khalkhal university hospitals. Sampling was done simply randomly. The instrument used is the Nursing Process Barriers Questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS/26 software.
Results: The findings of the present study show that in the implementation of the nursing process, "lack of complete knowledge of the concept of the nursing process" with 79% of the most individual barrier and "lack of access to new nursing resources by officials" with 83.3% and the most barriers of Management barrier is from the perspective of nurses. There was a statistically significant difference between gender and individual barrier "lack of complete knowledge of the concept of nursing process" (P <0.05).
Conclusion: The sum of the findings of the present study shows that from the perspective of nurses working in Ardabil and Khalkhal University Hospitals, the most important individual barrier is the lack of full knowledge of the concept of the nursing process and the most important managerial barrier is the lack of access to new nursing resources by officials.
