Therefore, present research aimed to investigation the role of emotional and cognitive empathy in predicting job and burnout satisfaction of nurses. Methods: Present research was a cross-sectional from type of correlation. Research population was nurses of governmental hospital of Urmia city at 2018 year which from them 285 people was selected by stratified random sampling method. Research tools were the questionnaires of emotional and cognitive empathy (Reniers & et al, 2011), job satisfaction (Smith & et al, 1969) and job burnout (Maslach & Jackson, 1993). Data analyzed with using of SPSS-19 software and with Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression with enter model methods Results: The findings showed that emotional and cognitive empathy have a positive and significant relationship with nurses’ job satisfaction and a negative and significant relationship with nurses’ job burnout. Also, emotional and cognitive empathy were able to predict 38/4 percent of the variance of nurses’ job satisfaction and 51/1 percent of the variance of nurses’ job burnout (p<0/05). Conclusions: The results indicate the effective role of emotional and cognitive empathy in predicting job and burnout satisfaction of nurses. Therefore, in order to increase job satisfaction and decrease job burnout of nurses can improve their emotional and cognitive empathy through workshops. M3 ER -
