The Relationship between Job Satisfaction and Quality of Life in Nurses At Khorramabad Educational Hospitals,2019

Introduction: The quality of nursing services and, consequently, the health of the community has a direct relationship with nurses' job satisfaction. Symptoms of nurses' job satisfaction are widespread and can affect the quality of life of nurses, increasing the quality of care and patient satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between job satisfaction and quality of life of nurses working at khorramabad  university of medical sciences hospitals in 2019.
Methods: In this descriptive-correlational study, 200 nurses working at khorramabad  university of medical sciences hospitals in 2019 were selected by size-proportional stratified sampling method. Data collection tools included demographic questionnaire, Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire, and WHOQOL-BRIEF. Data were analyzed by SPSS16 and descriptive and inferential statistics.
Results: In this study, Nurses' job satisfaction was moderate and their quality of life was poor.The highest mean score in job satisfaction was related to work context (3.48 ± 0.53) and the lowest mean score was related to the payment system(2.09 ± 0.59). Quality of life was highest mean score in mental health(51.77 ± 8.52)  and lowest in physical health(43.14 ± 8.16). Also, there was positive statistically significant correlation between job satisfaction and quality of life (p<0.001, r=0.385).
Conclusion: In the present study, nurses with more job satisfaction had a higher quality of life. Therefore, It is recommended to provideing backgrounds for increasing nurses' job satisfaction to improve their quality of life and provide better professional services.
