the Correlation between Emotional Intelligence with job motivation among Nursing Personnel in Public Hospitals of Kermanshah in 2015

Introduction: Emotional intelligence can be developed in economic potential in the organization according to modern and tools for guiding people inside and outside organizations. On the other hand, job motivation, the willingness of employees to overcome barriers to employment and working conditions adapt explains, in this study, the effect of emotional intelligence on job motivation was discussed.
Methods: The study population were all nurses working in public hospitals is the city of Kermanshah in 2015 using random sampling method and Cochran formula. The sample size was 178 people, of which 142 people completed the questionnaires and returned it. The main tool for obtaining data for the study of emotional intelligence questionnaire was Hackman and Oldham Bar _on and job motivation questionnaire. For the relationship between motivation and emotional intelligence-based statistical SPSS version 20 was used using Pearson's correlation coefficient.
Results: Between emotional intelligence, and job motivation, in governmental hospitals in Kermanshah the results were positive and significant. Pearson's correlation coefficient for the correlation between moral and emotional intelligence showed job motivation and self-awareness (r = 0.542, p = 0.021), self-respect (r = 0.782 , p = 0.033), social skills (r = 0.757 , p = 0.037), empathy (r = 0.615 , p = 0.015), and flexibility (r = 0,631 , p = 0.010), which represents a strong link between positive and significant ethics of emotional intelligence with job motivation among nurses in governmental hospitals of Kermanshah, Iran.
Conclusion: job motivation plays a big role in improving the quality of nursing services. The results showed a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and job motivation. After strengthening emotional intelligence training among nursing staff, job motivation could improve among nurses. This leads to increased satisfaction of nurses and public hospitals of Kermanshah will improve in the performance zone. |
