Postmodern curriculum of model and its application in Iran's Nursing Education system (design and evaluation model).

 Introduction: The shortcomings of the traditional curriculum and its inability to meet the real needs of students, led to program planners to pay more attention to newer models of curriculum. One of the approaches that can transform nursing education and improve its quality, is the post-modern curriculum. Considering the importance of, the present article aims to provide and evaluation curriculum of post-modern in Iran's nursing education.
Methods: The current study aimed to develop and evaluate an optimal model for application in Iran's nursing education system. This study is descriptive and applied research. It was presented with six elements: objectives, content, teaching and learning methods, learning environment, the role of learner and evaluation. Then curriculum specialists and evaluated the proposed model.
Results: As a result of this study, the model of postmodern curriculum was designed in nursing education system. The data were collected by a designed questionnaire. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics (frequency and percentage tables) and inferential statistics (chi-square and Fisher tests). In all 214 curriculum specialists were participated in the study. The findings showed more than 82 percent of curriculum specialists have evaluated the model. There was not a significant difference between curriculum specialists about the desirability of the proposed elements in this model (P> .05).
Conclusion: The results showed that the Model of Curriculum was designed on the basis of post-modern approach; evaluation is desirable according to the experts' curriculum for its application in Iran's nursing education System.
