Comparative Comparison of Iran's and Yale's Master's Degree in Medical Surgical Nursing

Introduction: The field of medical surgical nursing is of special importance due to its wide scope and scope of practice, its history and the highest rate of student acceptance among other nursing fields. And it needs to be continuously reviewed in terms of alignment with the needs of the society. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of comparative comparison between Iran and Yale University in America.
Methods: The current research is a comparative descriptive study )1402( in which the important indicators of the medical surgical nursing training program of nursing schools of Iran and Yale University of America were purposefully selected. It was done using four stage Bereday 's model with description, interpretation, Juxtaposition and Comparison.
Results: Both educational programs have formulated their philosophy, vision and values according to the cultural and social background of their country. The possibility of part-time study, scholarship, obtaining a letter of recommendation, the need to have work experience, a language certificate and professional qualification are among the findings that are different from Iran's internal surgical nursing master's program, also between the total The practical and clinical hours of these two training programs are different.
Conclusion: The comparison between Iran's medical surgical nursing master's program and Yale University in America shows that there are similarities in the content of the courses and significant differences in the conditions and method of accepting students and the type and number of course units. Due to the breadth of the master's degree in medical surgical nursing and in order to achieve the goals of the field, more clinical and practical training units should be provided and the conditions and methods of accepting students should be reconsidered.
